Miles N. Wernick, Ph.D., President
Dr. Wernick has 27 years of experience in the development of imaging technologies. He is an expert in imaging, image processing, data mining and optics. Dr. Wernick is also a Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), where he is Director of the Medical Imaging Research Center. He also holds an appointment as Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Dr. Wernick is co-editor of the book Emission Tomography: The Fundamentals of PET and SPECT. He is Associate Editor of the journals IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, Medical Physics, and SPIE/IS&T Journal of Electronic Imaging, member of the IEEE BioImaging and Signal Processing Technical Council, and Publications Chair of the 2011 ISBI conference. He recently served as Guest Editor of IEEE Signal Processing Magazine
Stephen C. Strother, Ph.D., Vice President
Dr. Strother has 30 years of experience in the development of imaging technologies, specializing in functional neuroimaging. He has been a prominent proponent of predictive modeling approaches to analysis of functional brain images, having developed the NPAIRS software package. He is chair of the Data Format Working Group, a multinational committee set up under the Neuroimaging Informatics Technology Initiative at the NIH. Dr. Strother is also a Senior Scientist at the Rotman Research Institute and Professor of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. Dr. Strother is Associate Editor of the journal Human Brain Mapping.
Ana S. Lukic, Ph.D., Senior Research Engineer
Dr. Lukic has 10 years of experience in the areas of neuroimaging data analysis and imaging system development. She is an expert in image processing, data analysis, electronics, and software development. Dr. Lukic is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at UIC.
Yongyi Yang, Ph.D., Senior Research Scientist
Dr. Yang has 18 years of R & D experience in image and signal processing, data analysis, pattern recognition and statistics. Dr. Yang is also a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at IIT, where he is with the Medical Imaging Research Center. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing and served as Guest Editor for special issues of Pattern Recognition and IEEE Transactions on Selected Topics for Signal Processing. He is co-author of the book Vector Space Projections: A Numerical Approach to Signal and Image Processing, Neural Nets, and Optics.
Daniel Roberts, Ph.D., O.D., Senior Research Scientist
Dr. Roberts holds the Ph.D. in Epidemiology and is a practicing optometrist with extensive research experience related to disorders of the anterior segment of the eye. Dr. Roberts pioneered the application of infrared imaging of the iris, the technology behind Predictek’s IRis multispectral imager. Dr. Roberts is also Professor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry and Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at UIC.
Boris Marendic, Ph.D., Research Engineer
Dr. Marendic is an expert in digital signal and image processing, with 7 years of experience at Motorola designing software-defined radios for public-safety radio systems, and 3 years of experience at IIT and Predictek in emission tomography and neuroimaging data analysis.
